How to type in Tamil online

This free tool lets you write Tamil (தமிழ்) with your normal English keyboard. Tamil is spoken in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia. Type a word the way it sounds in English letters, press Space, and it turns into Tamil script instantly.

Tips for accurate Tamil typing

Use "zh" for ழ (as in tamizh), "L" for ள and "R" for ற. If a word comes out differently, keep typing — the suggestion list usually offers the spelling you want.
